Caving and piercing

I note that despite an actual expert giving excellent advice (Tim, second post in thread) OP wisely didn't return 🤣.

Now OP's been scared off, maybe someone here could start a new sideshow act as "Mr Descendo"? They'd be a braver man than me!

Doesn't one of the ISSA lot make rack (descender) earrings? Usually available at Hidden Earth.
I'm not sure if they are rated as PPE, but better than nothing in an emergency

Well Mr Lifto would probably agree, I note he's been known to wear a full size locking HMS carabiner through each ear.

Don't be giving me ideas. I used to do hook suspensions in my younger years (when my skin was a little more resilient!).

i suppose a suitable nose ring could always be used as an attachment point for an ascender/descender in an emergency?
This chap has prepared himself for such an eventuality it seems.

Didn't expect this thread to get bumped 😆. That pic would be a good one for a caption contest though

Edit: although another use for the pic would be if you (mrodoc) wanted to show it to your local piercer and ask "can you do me one if these please?" Probably be quite a lot of guaging up before it'll come in useful for srt so may be a while. But it could help keep you nice and upright when ascending ropes.
