I know someone who nearly abseiled off the end of a rope but was caught by the Stop. Yes, the issue is the lack of knot in the end of the rope, but if there's one universal thing in caving it's that stuff happens...
I'm a big Rig convert; makes many manoeuvres so much easier particularly when rigging. I have a little quickdraw dogbone sling (10cm) on my harness which I clip the Rig onto to make it slightly higher and more comfortable.
