Would take fewer than five years if he was in Spain; the teenage cavers there blow UKers into the weeds.

@ 2xw as a CDG member i find your meme to be very offensive and not in the least bit amusing. I've no idea who you are but my gut reaction to you is 'f*** off twat'.
Anyone who heard senior CDG use racist terms for black people at the AGM and did nothing is either a racist or a coward. Which one are you?

As a side note, vaguely amused that you censored the F word but not twat 😂

There is clearly value in being able to respectfully discuss issues like this in the caving community, but not on the "Caving Memes" thread! Go and open an appropriately titled thread in the right bit of the forum and continue this discussion there if you wish (without the personal attacks!).

Fear not good “Cap n”. Training IS happening for people of all ages here in the UK.
Will we ever “match” our continental cousins for the amount of “structured” training for under 18’s ?
Probably not, due to lots of factors, however let’s look for positives and provide encouragement whenever possible.

Here are some pictures from the UK. Please feel free to show any of your numerous continental friends and colleagues.

Perhaps off topic, but, I find that issue is entirely resolved by making sure that I'm standing straight up on the pantin and not letting my leg push out to the left. This is harder when your legs are tired, and is one of the many reasons I believe that the catch on chest ascenders should open to the left not right...

Why don’t you put the pantin on the right?

One minute you’re a lady living under a tarp at 2500m in the Picos, 3 years later you have a couple of kids under your arms. The meme thing will no longer seem a meaningful part of your day to day life. The hormones will rewire your brain, and it’s for life.

The care home I have been visiting has a little row of Silvercross prams with dolls in. These are for the ladies in residence, one of whom was 110 I believe. Most of them at this place were highly paid professionals (it costs £100k a year). It’s the last thing to go and I think it’s in the stem. Like I said, you’ve been warned.

to be fair, babyhagrid was not making fun of (in a playful and lighthearted way) sharing pictures of ones *own* kids, rather of the pictures of the Random Spanish Superchildren whose shadow we, poor, old (i.e. not under 12) uk troglodytes can never hope to step out of (once again, i am joking). And, knowing babyhagrid, if he does get to experience the joy of motherhood one day, he will be making memes about it.
