After a stomp at Priddy village hall circa 1989 the following was slurred by a crumpled wreck propped up against a wall.

I can't remember the exact wording, but somewhere I have a newspaper cutting of an article by JW Puttrell when the DPC explored the Lower Series of Bagshaw Cavern, around 1904, and he said he 'would have given good money for a stout pair of kneepads'. My first trip down there also convinced me to at least upgrade my current pair.

Yep, it was Jim Dale that said it!
The neck deep water was unfortunately in a crawl that I managed to exit about 5 minutes before it filled up.
