So you were really keen to impress them and suggested a caving trip? Darkness and romance, a brilliant combo?

Or was it?

It's all about the anecdotes, ... how did things go? Many cavers have struck up relationships as a result of our favourite activity; are you one of them?

Well I shall be abandoning the wife for valentines day and going to the Dales for the DUSA Annual Dinner!

It's only fair, I had to miss it 3 years ago for her our wedding  ;)

Judging by the number of cave passages called 'Valentines' or similar, then digging on valentines day is very productive and should be encouraged.

I originally met my wife in the back of a van on Ilkley Moor car park on a caving club ladder climbing training day.

I know Garlands pot was found on Castleton Garland day so I've always assumed St Valentines Sump was passed on St Valentines day, but I could be wrong!!

Last weekend in Giants Hole I had to realize, that currently the only thing which makes my underwear wet is caving... So I think I am going caving on Sunday  ;) ;)
