Cawdor hidden scar

Regarding the human remains here, I covered this matter in my book about murders in the Peak District. Below are some extracts from my forthcoming (?) book:

A newspaper report in 1854 is the first record of human remains here:
For a great number of years past there have ? been found human remains in the chinks or crags in Corder quarry ? lately ? they discovered two more human skeletons, with a quantity of other bones ? eleven human skeletons , at different times, have been discovered ? there was a byre and lonely lane leading close past the quarry, and some parties very naturally conclude that the human remains are those of persons who have been murdered some time or other. ? Some of the remains found in former times had not quite decayed away, for one of the skeletons had hair on the head, quite red.

Four more skeletons, of men aged 25-50, one with a fractured skull were uncovered during 1893 in a fissure filled with loose stones directly opposite the gas works.  Initially, they were dated at only 30-40 years old, with murder again mentioned as a possibility, it being noted that ?years ago men were missed in a lane that runs nearby?. Later, an archaeologist declared them to be prehistoric, although he had not seen the bodies in situ.
