Copy aditnow! It's brilliant :)

Apart from the fact that it doesn't have a 'go down' facility to read the latest post, you have to scroll down through old posts every time, a lack that I find very irritating, it is available here, thanks (y) (y)

Just press your END key to go straight to the bottom and the HOME key to go straight to the top. At least that's what I do in Firefox...

Works in IE too.

I love this site. Just the way it is. There's a lot of mindless, repetitive drivel just like there is down the pub or at a committee meeting! That's a part of life and half the fun.

Trip reports I'm not too fussed on but someone mentioned techniques, that would be good if people talked/discussed these more.

Going to the last place you read, as on tapatalk, would be awesome!

There are a lot if very helpful, very knowledgeable cavers on here. Just yesterday someone who I've never met rifled through his archives for an article, photographed said article and emailed it to me. The whole process taking about 5 hours. I still intend to buy the gent a pint should I ever come across him, but a "thank you" or "like" button would do a little to acknowledge the help of him and those like him.

Indeed a 'Like' button would be 'most excellent!' (c) Bill & Ted. Lol.

the Karma system was introduced on this forum a number of years ago, see the Wad/Punter buttons/ratings on UKbouldering.com.

It was pulled pretty rapidly, since the usual suspects could just not resist and it all went a bit mad with tit for tat puntering.

Perhaps times have moved on and the inhabitant here are less juvenile these days.

Worth a try?

Then again, it could just provide the moderators with a whole heap of more work sorting out peoples petty arguments.  At times it feels like being a primary school teacher.

"But miss - he said, so I said, so he said, then I said"  o_O

I don't think this forum is big enough or active enough for a karma system, those systems are good when trying to wade through hundreds of posts per day to quickly sort the wheat from the chaff.

Tend to agree with others here, my 'karma' changes with every post change here, as it does with every cave system I enter;--- not suitable for purpose on this site!.

Like/not like should be good enough, thats what the thumbs up/down emoticons are all about, those who want a 'like' button should remember, it was only invented to up the rankings in search engines!

I have noticed that the next version of Simple Machines software is going to have a 'like' button.  It seems to be just a test version at present.  Hopefully when we get our IT management together we can upgrade and 'like' away.  :)
