• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Oh no, there’s been a handling incident with some donations!

Wanted to give a big thank you to Warmbac for sending all of these our way, the support is very much appreciated (your generosity led to every comp prize at SCHECC having a Warmbac element 😉).

You can now read more about Warmbac and all the other businesses that sponsor CHECC on the new re-vamped sponsorship page on our website! https://checc.org/current-checc-sponsors/

It will expand over the coming days, with entries for RRCPC, TSG, Wild Places Publishing, UKC and Ingleborough Cave all in the works and to be released soon! To the sponsors, I know I have been talking about the new sponsorship page for a while, thanks for your patience whilst I work it out. I am sorry it has taken so long, there have been a few technical things on this end to work out.

So yeah, that’s the new sponsorship page, hope you all like it! (if not please do get in contact with me privately and we’ll sort out any issues)

In other CHECC news this post coincidently lines up with 6 months (ish) until Big CHECC is going to be! 22nd to the 24th of November at Dolygaer Outdoors Centre (the same place as in 2019 if you remember that). Expect a bigger post announcing this, thought I’d slot it in here as a bonus fact for those of you who’ve read this far 😊. To round it off I might as well introduce a new competition; If anyone finds any spelling errors, typos etc (there are some on the new page) and lets me know about them before I find and fix them, you can have a free plastic CHECC pint glass!

Wishing you a pleasant evening,

Isaac.

Warmbac more like Warmbelly. aha

Looking forward to seeing our entry on your website.

For three years we sponsored the CHECC forum to a tune of over £1000, on one year to £1500, for the 'grand' prize. This included full SRT kits, rope, helmets, lights, tackle bags, etc. We also gave up our weekends to travel down to the CHECC AGMs to give out the prizes personally. In other years we've given smaller prizes towards various competitions. Over many years we've sponsored university club expeditions to Austria, Spain, Slovenia, with several kilometres of rope.

We're happy to continue to support student caving and CHECC.
