Does anyone have any more details on the closure of this road yesterday?
It is near the Oxwich turn-off and the entrance to Perriswood Archery and is on limestone and oolite. It was reported as being due to a cavity below the road surface. A local was quoted as saying ?The whole area has been affected by sink holes for years - the ground has been moving around here for decades. I had a sink hole on my land in the 60s which would have been big enough to fit a double-decker bus in. In the last ten years, I?ve had two much smaller sink holes. On this occasion, the actual road has been affected."
There are a number of sites on the Cambrian Cave registry near here.
