The Descent cover is a very poorly done composite of two images. I'm surprised Chris Howes chose to print this image considering how obvious the flaw is. Once you know it's a manipulated digital image it's difficult not to be suspicious of the rainbow effect in the shaft. I suspect the next Descent might have some comment in the letters page...
