Crimson Hill Tunnel, Wrantage in Somerset

Apart from the being the only one plus the geocachers, as we have completed the exploration and will be writing it up thought i would say more. 1800 yds long quoted and lies near Taunton. Taunton end negotiable for 800 metres with dinghy or such like useful/essential especially at far end. Dangerous in places, very well decorated with dig potential at terminal collapse, as estimated 500 metres still inaccessible, and would make a great through trip. Further info contact me via a PM.

I went in the tunnel a while back (twice in August 1984 and again at Christmas 1985). Must have had some plan to survey the tunnel or dig the end collapse, but never did.  Formations in the holes at the side of the tunnel are very pretty with mini-straws and gours. Seem to remember that it is used as a water source by a farm so access had to be negotiated for a time when they weren't pumping.

Fancy PMing me the details? Wouldnt mind checking it out... As it lies in m'land somewhat.
