CRO Land Rover for Sale

Blatant advert but CRO is trying to sell one of its vehicles as it has just taken delivery of a shiny new 130 Land Rover after much fund raising.

So a good home is needed for the old CRO 1 Land Rover 110 which has only done 10,750 miles from new. Has a full service history and is in a great all round condition. The main down side being a V8 petrol so a bit thirsty, although it would make a good LPG conversion. We have only been offered a pittance for trade in (it is 11 years old) hence the appeal here and elsewhere.

CRO needs to get the best price possible so it is going to be sold on Ebay from the 7th Feb for a week long auction. If anyone knows of anyone interested in such a vehicle please spread the word. Details can be found here www.dalesbridge.co.uk/cro/index.html. I will post the link here when it goes on Ebay.

Vehicle can be viewed if anyone is interested. Give me a ring 015242 51021. Any advice on how best to sell on Ebay would also be appreciated.

JJ, I've put a request for tips on selling on alt.fan.landrover, and I'll pass on anything useful which comes up.

I beleive that either Devon CRO or Cornwall are in need of a new vehicle.
no idea if they are in a position to pay "top dollars" though

Hmm, you have to wonder why funds had to be raised from people to replace a land rover that's only done 10K miles and looks immaculate..

Because a 130 is totally different from a 110. Land Rovers are brilliant vehicles but each type is for a different job.

I might just be playing devil's advocate here, but surely the "job" hasn't changed. So why do they need a new vehicle. We at GCRG replaced our Land Rover a few years ago, but it was secondhand when we got it and had loads of miles under the bonnet. We also had a large grant towards it (not sure how much so don't ask).

Now I know how much work the CRO do compared to GCRG, so I'm not arguing at all that they don't need the very best vehicle for the "job", and very likely the 130 is going to do the "job" better than the 110. And now I hope that some Land Rover fan out there will tell us why the 130 is better than the 110.

Keep up the good work CRO, I might need you myself one day.

Many thanks for all those that offered help and advise.

After many problems with Ebay messing around with my account the old CRO 1 Land Rover has been sold, collected and paid for.

A very good price was paid, far better than would have been achieved by selling privately.
