Right the infamous CRTT:

Parking: Cwmorthin, don't leave anything insight as local scumbags'll have it out of your vehicle without asking or using a key.

Ziplines: Yes there are 3 I bought a petzl Traction, that's the one with the built in hms carabina (its a bit pricy at the £50 mark)

1st drop into BIG chamber: BE QUIET, its all very unstable and too much noise can bring transit van sized lumps down!! HEAD LEFT about 45 degrees when you reach the bottom, you have to make a bit of a deviation to reach the second pitch head. (our first man left a glowstick at the turning point.)

Wire bridge: is fun, treat it like a via ferrata (clip your long cowstails to it)

2nd Drop: Dunno if anybody's re rigged it but its a bitch!! a nasty take off.

Bridge of death: 1st man out takes the pully out and puts onto the 2nd half (where there is NOTHING to walk on)

Lake descent: its static rope now, there may be a couple of boats there, just watch out at either end, that's the place where if you're not careful it can get holed.

When you get to the twill don't be tempted to climb out unless you are in daylight, head back down and find the nunber 9 addit its a hell of a lot easier.

KITLIST:

MAP AND COMPASS / GPS. we forgot this IT IS VITAL for the walk out.

Something silly to leave behind at the boundary, Just after the bit where you go UP (its the only bit on the whole trip). After that ditch your SRT kit into its bag.

Normal srt kit (decender, and prussiking gear)

Extra long cowstails, I made mine about a meter and a bit long,
you'll need these for the first zipline, Clip them above you to the zipline and use a short cowstail clipped to the saftey rope for breaking.
The only other place you'll need 'em is at the BoD, again clip them to the STEEL saftey rope in the cieling.

I didn't have a lifejacket for the lake crossing, but some innertubes MIGHT be ok as a backup (mind you falling into the water WASN'T GOING TO HAPPEN, NO WAY)

Hope this helps with the trip, its a blast.

Hmmm... ...reading how this trip has changed character over the years, perhaps this thread could drift into the "fixed aids" debate...  :cautious:
