    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

I remember doing it a few years ago, but it seems that I went the 'wrong' way. You may well ask, 'How can there be a right and a wrong way?' Well, the wheel rested on a kind of ledge, and going in one direction you pushed the wheel against a sort of nut and bolt sticking up from the ledge, as a result of which it (the wheel) stayed where it was. However, if you went the other way there was nothing stopping it moving a least a short distance, and dropping an inch or two in the process. When I tried it this did, indeed, move and drop, and I fell on my side onto the sticky-up bolt thingy, acquiring a spectacular and painful bruise.

I think that one still cooks with beef dripping, so not so good if you are vegetarian...
I believe the one in the market square cooks with vegetable oil.
The Ingleton chippy still cooks with dripping normally but has a fryer for doing veggie chips if you ask now. I assume Inglesport and the new Ingleton pizza place (still not tried it) cook in veggie oil.
They do indeed use beef dripping, I was in there one Saturday last year when a group came in with a big order they asked about veggie options for one of their number who wasn't with them, cue the beef dripping answer and the group just did, oh well we just won't tell her. If I did that I'd end up like Mussolini.
