I have been a long time member and moderator of DP, since the first month or two back in 2002. Until today that is. Having read the forum owners (c**tplaces) recent comments on UKC and his subsequent banning, I found the thread on DP discussing the banning. I added my tuppence worth and was instantly banned from DP.

I know the chap concerned (Root on Darkplaces, Darkplaces on UKC), having met him several times. The fact that this matter could not be discussed with me and I was simply banned without warning leads me to believe that he was simply trying to impress the increasingly cliquey users by flexing his html muscles. It's far easier to click the 'ban user' button than actually type something constructive and discuss the topic concerned.

To users of DP, be warned - it seems to be going down the same route as 28 Days Later. To UKC, I praise the intellectual and humourus posts that frequently grace the boards. Reading UKC threads is interesting, there is minimal twoddle to sift through. Keep up the good work.

I'm really tired of this bizarre inter-forum "competition" that some of the members of DP seem to want to perpetuate. It's really beyond me. If they prefer their forum then why not just stay there and enjoy themselves?

I don't belong to DP, not because I don't like them but simply because I have no need to. For some reason they seem to find it amusing to cause trouble here. I find it really really childish; it's totally pathetic.

Anyway, Darkplaces was banned for two reasons - firstly he was directly insulting to SamT (and actually asked for a ban himself) and secondly (and more seriously) he was extremely racist on the "Fat children" topic. That sort of racism is not acceptable here and never will be. It's only a 3 day ban and no doubt after it's over he'll come back and start causing trouble again, as seems to be his nature.

Another user was banned because he'd offered his login to Darkplaces which is also against this forums terms and conditions.

There is a topic over at DP which is revelling in the fact that there have been bans - here it is.. It seems some of their users have been deliberately been trying to get banned here. What is the point of that? Why not just leave? Again, very very childish and very very sad.

That topic also seems to ignore the fact that Darkplaces is a nasty little racist, but there we go

What utter utter utter rubbish.  I've known Darkplaces for 6 years and in that time have never ever known him to be a racist, let alone a nasty little one!!.

Ok thought carefully about this as i don't want to be called a racist.......i just hate everyone..........only joking i love everyone with an equal amount be they black, white, pink, yellow, orange, green, mauve........

In my opinion Darkplaces comments about the Chinese weren't racist.  I know some of you may disagree with me but hey this is what i think.  The race issue is an emotive one, will consider this further.

As for Darkplaces being sizest.....alot of other people in that thread were being sizest as well.  Several people used that horrible word 'fatties'.

Err - some of the people who have posted on this thread quite recently reported DP's comments (from the obesity thread) using the report to moderator function so Im not sure why they are surprised about the ban.

Let not forget that DP also appears to be homophobic as seen on the "Friday video Clips" thread.

in theory - no - cause it could be construde as racist.

However - ah I dont find you an annoying little {insert expletive} wind up merchant with a very narrow minded and negative view on all things 'not dark places' so would overlook it as something that was said in jest.

I still find it hard to believe that you think Darkplaces is Homophobic because of his 'gay' comment.  I doubt Darkplaces meant that the chap doing the tumbling on mats (which btw i thought bloody impressive) was in a same sex relationship and because of this he was doing gymnastics.  I took his comments to mean "that looks a bit girly like and not what a man like me would do".
