Every now and again one stumbles across a new hole with the tell tail signs off spoil and shoring in various states of decay, indicating an old abandoned ? dig. Now, more than likely a lot of effort went into that particular hole with no reward(which is often the case). Would it not be a good idea to have a list of such sites to inform future generations of cavers to what has been done , the problems encountered, the potential of the site and the prospects for future work. Most diggers having given up on a particular site would only be more than happy to know that another group will continue where they left off and carry on their good work. If a breakthrough was to come the original diggers would be satisfied that they had some part in the opening of a new system and due recognition could be made to them.
