...and gets more astonishing. There is a not a lead they have not pushed in that hole and as for the pumping effort I cant believe what they plan to do. Amazing.

You're right Goydenman. When our French caving colleagues really put their mind to it they are capable of some incredible things.

The actual rescue attempt was an outstanding effort in itself; nothing more could have been done. It's so sad that the outcome wasn't better but our UK team have a lot to be proud of in the way they responded. I sense there is a real will now among the French to finish the job if at all possible. I wish them well.

I've been following that thread since it started and I am amazed at what everyone was able to do in spite of the weather and all the other various setbacks....it's so sad in the end they can't actually get to his body.  :cry: There were so many times in reading Yvonne's updates that I wished I was a better caver and had the ability to go over there and help.
