Can't wait any longer....

THE NEWS YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR:-

Here is my best attempt at recreating the 'brochure' for Draenen's new enterance I recieved at the very begining of April.

Ogof Draenen Newydd - the new main portal

Now that the extended Ogof Draenen is more than 690km long and confirmed as the World's Longest Cave, a suitably impressive new entrance has been opened just outside Blaenavon. Costing over ?37 million the new entrance was funded from spare cash found in the offices of London's Garden Bridge Trust when that project was secretly abandoned in mid 2016. The nearby hotel complex has been named "Osborne Cottage" in honour of the former Chancellor who stole this money from hard working families.

The new portal allows direct vehicle access into the cave system and there are parking spaces in the appropriately named "Vast Chamber near the Entrance" for 250 cars and 46 coaches.

The only work remaining to be done is to widen the dirt track leading to the portal from the Abergavenny Road to six lane motorway standard.

Some sceptics seem to think that the satellite images of "Ogof Draenen Newydd" have been Photoshopped or somehow modified. This is not the case and you can check for yourself on Google Earth.

This site can also be seen on the excellent "Clydach Gorge Cave Location Map" available online at http://www.ogof.org.uk/Clydach-Gorge-Cave-Location-Map.html  Over the past couple of years I have found the pages provided by ogof.org to be extremely useful, both for cave prospecting and information on existing caves. Surely nobody would think that ogof.org would host information on spurious sites....would they?
