We had a really enjoyable club trip to Fool's Paradise and back yesterday. I've never been before; what a fabulous cave.
Anyway, I was initially horrified to see numerous tiny white worms in the flat out crawl immediately before Fool's Paradise, where it is hard to avoid touching them. I thought "Oh no, cow arse worms!".
When I got out I searched online for what they might be and it seems they are Triclads, not uncommon in UK caves: https://bcra.org.uk/cavelife/yorkshire/flatworms.html.
They were about 10 to 15 mm long. I scooped one out of the water on a gloved finger and it contracted into a tiny sphere. Somehow less revolting than cow worms.
