Mentioned briefly in another thread, I think it appropriate to start a new one on this. I have only just learned from Welsh Mines Newsletter that its developer, Chris Ebbs, sadly died late last year. This explains why I have not heard from him for some time. Chris put a lot of effort into developing this site which was on a free Google platform. When this was being withdrwn there was danger of the site being lost, I stepped in and offered to save it and host it under the Cambrian Mines Trust banner. It was a bit difficult as the site was not developed on local disk but on a remote server from which it had to be hacked. But I managed this, cleaned it up, and got in onto our own server.

The design is a bit unusual for a website but its as Chris designed it and I kept faithful to this:
At some point in the future I might register a domain for it, they cheap enough.

Oh, I thought it was fairly widespread knowledge. I found this at the bottom of the Olwyn Goch shaft earlier this year.

Hi Roy,

I had a look at the Flint lead Mining site but I couldn't progress beyond the homepage. It mentions a Navigation Bar on the left of the page but I can't see one anywhere. Have I missed something? The links work, as does clicking on any of the three photos to enlarge them.

I'm using Google Chrome on a Windows laptop, if that's useful information.

In the unlikely event anyone is good enough to install a plaque for me somewhere one day (the more daft the location the better), I'd be very grateful if they line up the screw slots as carefully as someone did for Chris Ebbs. (I'm slightly anxious about the bottom left one, but they are generally parallel). Not sure why I find that so important but I'm pleased to see the pic that it was done properly for that guy!

Yes, I have just tried it on my netbook, its OK on larger PC screen, I am wondering how long it has been like this. I will look into this an attempt a fix.

In the even more unlikely event that someone installs a plaque for me, or posts a thread about my demise, I hope they will spell my name correctly. Did Mr Ebbs spell his with an 'h' as all the posters here did, or without, as on the plaque?

From the photo of his book I've just found via Roy's link, it seems the plaque is correct with 'Cris'

Issues fixed, hopefully. Nothing to do with screen size or laptop or whatever, the home page was f---d. What I was seeing was the old version, refresh reverled the truth.
