fly drive through trips

Can anyone recommend a good fly drive through trip to do over Easter weekend? i.e. fly in, hire a car and go off caving for a couple of days.

Thinking of Europe of course, probably France and not the Matienzo area (been there before).

I've got a few ideas already but one of my main concerns is that there may still be snow on some of the mountains in places like the Chartreuse?

thanks

Budapest has interesting caves within the city boundaries. Catch a bus or tram, never mind hiring a car.

Or go further field to Aggtelek National Park with extremely fine show caves, and guided tours lasting up to 5 hours if you book in advance, or even, I believe, if you just turn up in a group of at least ten at the right time.

how about slovenia - fly to ljubliana, cheap - hire a car - cheap - and head off to Speleocamp (you have to book in advance) cheap - wander round awesome caves.

Or how about France - fly to grenoble and head into the vercours - or fly to geneva and go and do the Grotte de la Diau trough trip.

Dent De Crolles - Chartreuse. 400m to 600m deep through trips, minimal gear needed. Pitches up to 55m

Glaz-Guirs Mort and Glaz - Chavalier easily doable in a long w/e

Fly to Lyon and hire a car, 50 minutes drive..

Slovenia is cool too....

Well the Dent de Crolles was one i was thinking of - my main concern was whether it would all be under snow at Easter?

I think the top plateau entrances (P40 & Anettes) would be snow plugged, but the Glaz is a big yogi bear entrance next to a path, so you should be o.k.

It's a great trip, did it two years ago and ten years ago
