Plan to create Elgar museum at Settle’s former Natwest bank

PLANS for a museum celebrating the link between English composer Sir Edward Elgar and Settle have been lodged with North Yorkshire Council.

Admittedly not about caving but a bit of Dales history there, so I thought it was worth passing on.

Out of interest, here's a photo of the Elgar plaque on the old NatWest bank building in Settle (a few doors down from the present day Co-op). It was this which originally gave us the idea to erect a plaque about Cymmie and the BSA on the old police station building near the post office.
