It looks like we (Crewe C&PC) have to dispose of our stock of hi pressure water main. It's about 2' id and chopped into 6' ish lenths - much better than oildrum for supporting entrances/digs etc & should last virtualy forever!
In various locations in S Ches./ N. Staffs but you'll need to arrange collection - we certainly wont post it!
PM me if interested.

Flower pot entrance to Carlswark needs some.

There have been several offers from folks on this site to sort this out. We've got the pipe now - lets sort it. I reckon the pemberton boys need a little project.

As for the rest nige - how much is there. Would be a shame to see it go to waste. There are several projects that I could foresee it being used on.

I think Mark C from Chesterfield CC is doing a survey/conservation work on Carlswark. I'll email him to see if he wants some. I may be able to arrange pick up as well.

I can help insert the tube somewhere dark and moist........

bloody ell - thats a fair amount then.

We'll there is a potential dig in a quarry on moss rake. natural, with flow stone, that I think draughts. However, I think the quarry is due to be filled, and I've always thought it would be good to kind of build a chimney up the cliff face above the hole so that its not lost.
This pipe could be the answer!!

Its definitely wide enough to climb up ?? either on ladder or srt.

Hucklow Digging Stores can find a home for it (pending re-distribution to needy causes) if it's otherwise going to have to be ditched. I can pop over with the trailer one evening after I get back from Prague next week if you like.

It looks like I might need two or three spare pairs of hands to come over to Crewe one or two evenings in the next week or three to help load these into the trailer when I go and get them. I'd want to set out from Hucklow probably about 7pm and get back about 9pm, unless we can organise it for next weekend (11/12th) or the one after. Volunteers please!

Nick.

Looks like we'll be doing this tomorrow night (Wednesday) leaving Hucklow about 7:30, aiming to be over Congleton/Crewe way by about 8:30. Help at the Congleton end to load pipes onto my trailer would be appreciated - we can get them off this end with a loader if necessary, although I suspect that all we will need is gravity and a crowbar!
