was there the other day and noticed a rope going to a passage about 5m above the curtian. Where does it go? who rigged it? Would have gone up but there was a massive rub point and you cudnt see what the rope was rigged on from below.

isnt that corkscrew aven. IIRC there is a load of bang wire and rubble on the floor there from digging exploits above. Never been up there though.

Thought Corkscew Aven was above Geology Pot after the roof traverse where there is a short handline climb down to a static pool, and the Far Curtain below Geology in the streamway. The climb up Corkscrew goes a long way - almost to surface - and if linked might help flush the radon out a bit...

Brains is correct :-

"Following the "clean elliptical crawl" for 8m the roof of the streamway is reached, with a convenient area to turn at the end to prevent a 'head first' down the 3m deep rift. Stay at this level and traverse downstream (right) for 6m to resin anchors in the left wall. From here follow the normally insitu traverse line for 8m via two rebelays along the Bad Step Traverse (the drop increases with progression). The traverse line ends at a resin anchor and a natural thread in a high level passage exiting on the left. This is easily followed for 26m to The Plug Hole, a 5m deep 2.5m diameter pot equipped with a resin anchor and usually a hand-line. Above is Corkscrew Aven. (The rope is of uncertain age and should not be trusted). Follow the stream from the bottom down a short climb for 23m to the top of Geology Pot "

Far Curtain is just before East Canal.
