Nope, nothing at all received. Why don't they just stick air raid sirens on masts with red flashing lights on around the UK for issuing warnings?

I can't find any alert / emergency related setting on my Android 9 phone. And I did not get the message. Perhaps I am one of the unwanted...

Chris.
I think you have to be Android 11+ If you can't get the alert, you wouldn't need anything to switch it off.

The BBC's coverage ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-65330397 ) suggests some people got it early, some people got it several times and loads of folk didn't get anything.

As a tax payer, I hope the software company in America which sold the system to our government aren't going to get paid for it. Or at least not until they get it to work properly.
Company belongs to the father of Sunak's wife. Keep it in the family!

There's got to be some scope for some juicy conspiracy theories: If Covid had parallels with the film 'Contagion', then how about this one with tenuous parallels with 'When Worlds Collide'. Elon Musk seems very busy testing his Starships that can seat 100 people - hiding in plain sight. Meanwhile the Illuminati are sending out test messages to all phones to tell people what to do in an emergency. Nasa have also been quiet on the impending Planet X collision front. So when the next alerts go off telling people to take cover due to 'a storm approaching' the Illuminati will secretly run to the Starships...
