The Register has a regular column for humorous IT support stories, and this particular one features a Cornish tin mine back in the eighties with a computer sited underground in "less than ideal" working conditions - I'm wondering if this was Geevor or another site?

Off thread, but years ago I took a laptop into Smallcleaugh as a novelty idea to view photographs I was taking on a larger screen. Yes, it did help to get better pictures, Michells Flat.

Not down down a mine but I once had to fix PDP11 in Corby steel works. It was between two rolling mill tracks, with red hot steel billets shooting past at about head height. I dont know how I kept working, never mind the computer!
