Thanks Fulk - you've cured me of any desire for further Whitbarrow bushwhacking. I'll stick to its limestone pavements in future.

Hmmmm, I'll be back over the arnside/silverdale area next summer for a week if anyones about, last year I only really got to look at Dog holes (the one on wharton crag) and fairyholes over near grange.
