I think we'll need a bit more info.

From your description, I envisage an aven with jammed boulders at the top with water falling through them. Is this correct? If so, how high is the aven and how big is the area underneath it? Where does the water need to go? Do you just want to create an area where there is no falling water so it's more comfortable to work? Or what?

Tell us more - you don't have to say where it is if you don't want to!

Nick.

Tarp tied to the scaffolding springs immediatly to mind, with a corner drooping where you want the water to go.

Thought I'd replied to this one ages ago - guess I cant have hit the post button.

Any how - you need a big funnel dont you. something cone like.

I know where there are litterally thousands - Red and white ones - with a reflective bit. geddit.

Im sure who ever put them there wont mind you borrowing one - Theres *never* anyone around behind them.

The end fits very neatly into the 4" fire hose stuff (the stuff that folds flat) which you can usually pick up from some source or other.

Ocean going yachts use a tarp like affair with a fitted funnel in the middle to catch rain water and direct it to the water tanks with a flexible pipe.
I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to construct your own version of this to suit yur needs.

Or buy a goon suit? Seriously, in wet digs they make life far more comfortable. Best worn under a boiler suit or other protective layer, to avoid tears.

So what was the final arrangement. Tarp running into a funnel and hose arrangment ??

did the cone fit eventually - or did you have to abandon that idea.
