What would be handy to know is whether the duration of the presentations I offered is as originally stated. I have tailored the slide shows to fit, but might not be able to click the buttons fast enough if my slots have been shortened!

I'll be there to heckle applaud you, Peter  (y) I'm on the tech team too, what could possibly go wrong?

Are you aware of my problem?

I am now... I'm more of a gophering type rather than a technician though, Les is the man who will have the answers, I am sure they will be provided soon. Looking forward to Hidden Earth this year, lots of exciting stuff.

To aid timetabling, ALL lecture slots are in multiples of a half hour (normally. E&OE).
A half hour equates to around 20 mins for the lecture, 5 mins to try and shut the lecturer up so we don't over run  ;) and 5 mins for questions. multiple slots are pro rata.

Hope this helps

Les

3 days to go! yay! So exciting! :D :D :D :D :D

Great! That means only 2 more late nights at the computer trying to finish the opening AV presentation!

Don't forget to bring some caving photos on a memory stick or CD to add to the digital showcase.

From the HE website http://www.hidden-earth.org.uk/rules.photo.html :

Digital Showcase

We want the Photo Salon to live up to its description of being a 'salon' where you can display your work. Consequently, the photo salon features a 'digital showcase' section. Your images will be displayed in sequence on a monitor in the exhibition area. The work will not be included in the competition, but images entered into the usual competition categories can also be submitted to the showcase.

    * Guidelines for Digital Showcase. Images in the slideshow will be shown in alpha-numeric order of file name so you can take advantage of this to provide a title image. The title file-name just needs to come before the picture file-names, and all files should use a common prefix to avoid other photographers' files coming in between (e.g. call your files smith001.jpg, smith002.jpg;, with the title image as, say, smith000.jpg). The application we will be using supports all common image formats, so title slides could be GIF, TIFF or BMP format if needed. They just need to meet the resolution and file size limits that we specify for performance reasons, which are 1280 x 1024 and 2MB. It you want your name or any other information to be shown with individual images then please make it part of the image itself. We'd rather not display a separate title slide for each image or the slideshow would get rather tedious.

Any chance anyone knows how long the BCRA AGM normally lasts.  It's got the slot 5-6.30 but does it normally take that long?  Thanks

Alas I am in a tent all on my own for the conference.  Boyfriend busy elsewhere! :(  But i have plenty of warm clothing.  I did get some lads at the Kendall Conference trying to get into my tent i remember to 'warm me up'.  Have no idea who there were but i chucked them out sharpish!

Does anyone know what type of cider has been ordered for the bar so i know whether i will be drinking ale or cider?  What beer has been ordered too?  I like to plan my means of poision!

hugs

Is there anyone travelling from the Peak District for the Sunday session who can offer (or would like) a lift?

Nick.
