What a great range of lectures! The usual selection of expedition updates, regional roundups, and many of the major UK discoveries covered too including the new finds under Cleasby Hill, Draughting Hole/Missed Pot, and of course the goings-on in Forest of Dean. Tim's lecture last year was awesome and had the audience stunned to silence as probably the biggest UK new discovery since Draenen in the early 1990s was unveiled.
I suspect this year's Redhouse talk will be a similar showstopper - worth the journey for that alone!
Nice to see lots of specialist areas covered too, art, photography, surveying, videography, archaeology, youth caving, grant writing, and science.
Particularly looking forward to Philip Judson's talk - he's a great speaker who I know has many awesome stories to tell (plus I doubt many people knew the GOC were a leading force in cave exploration in Russia many years ago).
Very happy to be returning to Llangollen, an excellent venue with very good catering. I know that many of the organisers are very relieved to be returning to a venue where they already know their wait around and don't have as many 'unknowns' to contend with.
Thanks to all the organisers for bringing this together, reallly looking forward to it
