Holbeck Junction

Many years ago ( about 60 years ago ) I visited Easegill Caverns - On reaching Holbeck Junction there was a hugh British Rail sign saying Holbeck Junction. I was told it had been acquired from the signal box at H J Leeds.
So who acquired the sign in the first place
Who installed it at Holbeck Junction.
And what happened to the sign
Happy Christmas

Interesting - I didn't know about that. I don't remember it on my first visit, about 1968.

This reminds of the sign I recall seeing back in the late seventies (early eighties?) in the far reaches of Pippikin Pot when it was a really remote spot. I think it said something about 'as seen on BBC TV'. We assumed it was something to do with Sid Perou's filming down there a few years earlier. Another 'unexpected item' I saw down a cave was the big plastic 'police bulldog' bin that was hanging up in the Roof Tunnel of West Kingsdale. I think it had been 'transferred' from Ingleton chippy.
