Oh heck, that brings back memories....

And it was entirely typical of the much lamented 'Crags' style....It wasn't published in 1971 though. Crags didn't start till 1976.

Brilliant stuff, but I think one or two of the paragraphs are out of order.

OTOH, it may well have been that the reality wasn't exactly linear either...
