Lathkill Top Entrance - Bad Air?

Had a trip down on Sunday 2nd August to check water levels.
Cigarette lighters wouldn't light at bottom of pitch (top of Waiting Room) - both lit fine on surface.
Carried on to Lathkiller Hall and back without incident.
One of party felt short of breath on prusik out.

Take care.

Hi, (Seamoose),
I'm keeping a record of high levels of CO2 in Peak District Caves. If you could mail me full details I'd be grateful (RJohnCave@aol.com)
CCPC has a meter and are measuring CO2 levels in as many locations as possible over a two-year operiod and Nick Williams has a 4-gas meter he's prepared to loan out if you feel inclined to get accurate measurements.

Out of interest...what were the water levels like in Lathkill Head Cave?
Or is that a daft question given the recent weather?

Yeah, plenty of water in there... sumped immediately down stream and perhaps 20m up stream of Lathkiller Hall.
Went to look at resurgence after, healthy flow coming out and cave sumped not far in.
