• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Whilst derigging Bell, I stupidly dropped my Princetec Attitude backup torch down the pitch.  :wall:
Didn't go back for it as I assumed it won't survive the fall!
If rescued and is still working, please let me know!
Cheers ;)

Surely, it was either working, in which case you would have wanted to retrieve it, or it was useless litter, in which case you wouldn't want to have left it despoiling the cave?

If rescued and is still working, please let me know!
Why would you want to know? To know if it survives a fall such as that?
You didn't go to retrieve it, you abandoned it, so surely if someone finds it then they can keep it (/bin it) because you obviously didn't want it....

It was infact working - and pretty much brand new - only been on two caving trips prior to this!
Maybe it was a bad decision on my part to leave it behind, but the other members of our party were cold, and at the time I thought it would be a bad idea to spend more time faffing around to rig the pitch again and going to fetch it.
Anyways, I'm not expecting it to survive, but if anyone does find it and it is miraculously still in working order, then they are very welcome to it!
