Masson Lees Quarry Access

Does anyone know who owns Masson Lees Quarry and the access from Salters Lane? Looking to use it for Mountain Rescue Team practice but need permission first

Any info gratefully received via PM if preferred

Hi Stuart, asked @ mining museum today, no-one was sure , though suggested contact G. Gibson on line/ bouldering as he has bolted loads of routes in said quarry.
Best i can do tho i will ask anyone locally i think may know.
post any info would be interested in your 'mountain rescue practice'

Good idea re Gary Gibson. This site has some access info so might be worth getting in touch with them.

Thanks for that - had a trawl over Gary's website as I knew he'd done a lot of the work bolting routes there but couldn't spot any info on who owned it. Will try and contact him for anymore info.

Also interested in Hall Dale Quarry in Matlock. Both will be for Derby MRT to practice - Searches, Cas Care, Stretcher lowers, Evacuations etc. Had a callout to Masson Lees for a young lad who fell off a cliff during a rave last year!!

I think it was one of them that last mined it in the 60's (?). Either way they are very knowledgable and may be able to help...

It has been rented by the adjacent farm as far as I know but I can't say for certain - you've dug up a fifteen-year old thread here...
