Mendip Cave Rescue Workshop

Mendip Cave Rescue (formerly Mendip Rescue Organization ? MRO) is holding a cave rescue workshop on Saturday 17 May. All interested parties welcome for surface activities. Underground exercise in GB for cavers (bring appropriate personal equipment). Meet at the Charterhouse Centre car park at 10.00am.

I'm just trying to get an idea on the plan for the day as I'd love to come along but have visitors arriving later in the afternoon 

Being a 'workshop' - does that mean a practice cave rescue or (as I've heard down the grapevine) a series of stands to go round in GB teaching/learning/simulating rescue techniques. If so, does that allow people to come and go as they please or is it a commitment to the full day?

There is a degree of formality as people do go around in small groups rather than randomly on their own, but from experience of past years a morning only visit would be worthwhile and informative.

The morning only will be fine and you do not have to commit to a full day. There will be a variety of activities going on.

Given that you are a club member, why do you ask?

So if I have a member of Darkplaces who is not a club member and who is interested I could bring him/her along, never know a club might end up with a new member out of it, you never know.

As i understand it all are welcome, but everyone will have to have a valid CCC permit to go underground.

Anyone taking a book of permits for purchase on the day? Not all clubs provide year permits to members.

Everyone is welcome at the workshop and we will have CCC permits if anyone needs one.
