Toothache is currently being dug (again*) by Robin Gray and others, I understand they are about 40' down.
Kevin
*Robin first dug this hole in about 1980

I'm not sure if Barrow Rake got revisited post the BEC digging at it in the 90s, but it had horrendously bad air at the bottom of the entrance shaft in the dig area and was where we got the idea to use vacuum cleaner to suck the co2 out of for.

It is clearly not a complete list of Mendip Digs so I guess this list is digs that Chris has questions about. There are clearly no questions to be asked about Timber Hole...

I met a nationally well-known caver at Hidden Earth who has had an interest in Timber Hole - I forgot to ask him what progress he had made. Sorry. I did feature a photo of him standing next to the dig in my presentation though. If you want more details, PM me.....

Stainsby's is a Mendip Dig,
as far as I know,
it has only been dug about three times this year.
The purpose of the dig is to make an easier route into Upper Flood Swallet,
mainly to get diggers & materials into the system as the present entry cave is somewhat contorted.
Unfortunately we seem to keep digging at different sites, within the cave.

you are correct les, i am aware that timber hole is an active dig and am only interested in digs that i cannot find information about. but as i can tell everyone seem to be overly enthusiastic about timber hole

and every other hole, crack, gap between boulders, slight depression and anything else that might just signal a way in to the Cheddar Master System in this "new Klondike" that is the Cheddar catchment.  :alien:

Eighteen Acre Swallet
Eighteen Acre Swallet probably hasnt been dug for over 5 years. We found a lot of mud, even more unstable rocks and some bad air.

Fireplace Hole dug by Axbridge Caving Group in 1993 and 1996.

Ewan disappeared from the club in 1996 so no more news since then.

Suggest you ask ATLAS at the Waggon & Horses on Wednesday evening after digging about some sites on this list.

Limekiln Dig was passed from Mr. Cornwell to M.C.G. as he did not want it any more.
Anyway, somebody told us we could not call it Limekiln Dig as there was already a Limekiln Dig, so we renamed it Roman Rake.
Anyway we have not dug it for about two and a half years now, it is close to Grebe Swallet.

Limekiln Dig is up Eastwater lane and has been dug (mined) by some members of the Wessex.  :coffee:

Tween Twins is half way between East Twin and West Twin valleys in Burrington Coomb, about 100 ft up the hillside from the road sign.  I've visited it a few time over the last few years but wasn't aware of any recent digging activity.  The cave consists of a few entrances (two?) about 10-20 ft apart - they quickly terminate in very small chambers which are connected.  The floors of the passages are soil - they don't give the impression of hiding much.

I think you mean Waterwheel Swallet.
I think you know what I mean better than I do myself Captain, it's a good job at least one of us is on the ball.
How is your dig of Grebe, progressing, as we are talking digs?

We've discovered a rich and plentiful seam of mud. Do you want to buy some? - pretty much unlimited supply at the moment.
