Mine entrances in Stoney Middleton.

I have noticed a few mine entrances around Stoney Middleton that are not mentioned on the peakdistrictcaving.info Stoney Middleton cave guide. 
2 one above the other across the road from Horseshoe quarry and one below Yoga cave crawl entrance. Dose anyone have any information on Thea's or know the names so i can search the net just out of interest?  :-\

i dare say there are hundreds of holes in stoney dale not mentioned in the guide. I'm not a stoney man, but I dare say the pembertons, John Beck or MartinB amongst others will be able to tell you what they are.

Cant think of any mine levels opposite Horseshoe Quarry, there is Paracetem'ole, Hangover hole and a few abortive digs on that hillside.

The 2 I'm thinking of are in that area maybe above what i think is Paracetem'ole and or  Hangover hole. the upper entrance has a rail tracks suspended in mid air. I didn't enter it but the lower one  goes a short way to what i would consider a collapse

Yes I know the level with the hanging railway tracks, though can't remember the name of it.....  I do remember its very, very dodgey and not very long. 'Orrible it is...

Yeah I walked in there to a collapse along the dodgy railway. abit dodgy as the stuff I was using to walk across was dropping away below my feet! If you head up on the field above you can follow the depressions for quite some time, theres also some small shakeholes.

I notice that the intersection of this rake, and the one that runs down the NE side of the dale seem to intersect bang over strawberry hole.

Mark is correct with the name of White Rake. I have some slides of myself and T revell in the mine with the railway tracks. We abbed down into the lower levels using some well dodgy stemple, not the place to be then or now !
If you follow White Rake up hill to the junction and take the left hand branch you will eventualy come to a shaft covered with limestone slabs, this shaft is approx 30' deep with no apparent levels going off. In the next field there is also another shaft approx 50' deep I have not been down it. The shafts are on land that is owned by the Hancock family of Castle Gate farm on Thunderpit lane Stoney Middleton. Further up the dale on the left there is another rake but no open shafts can be found.

I think that 50' shaft has a "dead sheep choke"  :yucky:

What is this thing with strawberry hole :-\ is it really a gap between large boulders or something else???  why would it be so drafty if that's all it is?

I did read a bit of that thred last night and after readtin SamT's post made me ask the question.

I would be more than happy to head out that way with you BUT I dint drive  so i have to be really nice to my girlfriend if i want to go anywhere or catch bus/ train. i don't own any SRT gear as of yet, I use the clubs ( cheep SRT gear wanted ) I have my children every second weekend and i have to spend some time with my Girlfriend or so she tells me  :kiss2:

Where there is Will there is a way so if i can acquire some SRT gear over the next few months and sort a camping weekend to Wardlow (Three Stags Heads) would that be good?
