Here is a video I made of our recent adventure in the Napoli underground, largely unexplored and hugely extensive, it was a real honour to explore and with such good company, a trip report will follow, once we get photos sorted.

It's amazing isn't it? Expecially if you realise that they quarried the undrground, built above it and then got very surprised when the the gound collapsed... (we italians are special, what can I say...)

did you do the normal touristy trip where they give you candles, as well? That's a very interesting and enticing introduction to the system. I've only been to the touristy trip myself but I had taken a headtorch and tried to sneak out of sight but got caught fairly quickly
You had local guides: did they take you to some nice pizzeria? Also, I had read somewhere that they are still cleaning as the area was used as massive rubbish dump for centuries: did they make yu do any digging/cleaning? oh... now I want to go there again!

Ah, the candle trip is the Clemente Esposito museum, we did that trip on Sunday and met the man himself, then they took us into the acqueducts beneath it. The video features the trip we did on Saturday which was more on the wild side where we abseiled under the church and did a 6 hour explore off the survey and into some amazing places.

We had some pretty amazing pizza!
