The armoured cable was about 25m long, mainly because that's all we needed it to be at the time. However, this has actually just been replaced with a standard wire because the new rift needed a longer reach.
(We only used armoured cable initially because one of our team had some going spare).
In Jenga, we ran 110V from the surface all the way to the sumps using a standard (non-armoured) reel of cable, the third sump probably being about 150-200m of cable in total from the entrance, and this worked fine. Not only did this run the pumps (two at a time), but we were also able to use it to power a 110V drill which eventually allowed us to achieve a bypass over the top of Sump Three. I wouldn't have wanted to be taking expensive lithium ion batteries down there through sumps one and two every week, plus it meant we could leave the drill down there during the project in a drybag without worrying about needing to take batteries out for charging or moisture causing any issues.
