In the newsdesk, read a review of the underground events at Kendal Mountain Festival, plus tales of cannibalism and the Cavefish Asteroid.

In regional news, we have three new connections in Ogof Agen Allwedd, a report on the iron mines of Anjou, an extension to Big Sink Cave in the Forest of Dean, a new dig in Yorkshire's Marble Steps Pot, student parties, an obituary for Tony Boycott, a tight find in the Peak District and a discovery in County Kerry with extensive formations.

The Nidderdale resurvey data so far is now available to view in the Northern England section of the Cave Registry Data Archive.

http://cave-registry.org.uk/svn/NorthernEngland/

The resurvey is not yet complete but hopefully time permitting should be finished this year.

You will need to install Tortoise SVN to check out the files so follow the very clear instructions here

http://cave-registry.org.uk

We have used Pocket Topo and Therion to do the survey and due to trying to keep the data stored in the archive to a minimum you will have to download the respective programs and run them using the files in the archive to create outputs i.e. maps etc.
The Output folder in the Nidderdale hierarchy is empty, if the whole data set is checked out any outputs generated will automaticaly be placed in their respective survey folders in the output folder.
I may write a simple "How to generate outputs" file for people not familiar with Therion In the meantime if anyone wants to know PM me and I will help. It's really easy and once the program is installed it takes a few seconds to get the maps, Google earth overlays etc.

Well done swallowneck.......hold on a minute I've just noticed you committed to us finishing the survey this year aaaarrgh!
