Is it WET in Wales?

Depends where you go (and when). I've been in the sea today and it was pretty wet there. It will be quite wet in some of the caves as well.

This just gets better all the time...... who's going to have the last word.....

If it keeps her happy and makes her think that she is 'restoring the authority of the PDCMG' (as she once told me she was going to do), I'm quite content for Fleur to have it (for now at least). Here you go:

Another digression I know, but this is factually incorrect. The showcave owner banned Joel because he went into the cave, against the advice of showcave staff, on a day when an inch and more of rain was forecast, and then had to be rescued.

You might want to ask Rich about this as it seems to me that you?re accusing him of being a fibber!

I write as the Wardens' Secretary for the DYO CAC and I was involved in all of the subsequent, rather difficult, meetings when we attempted to deal with all the issues over the ban. I can assure everyone that this forum had nothing to do with it.

And if this really is the case then why did you feel the need to apologise to me after the meeting about the way that things got stirred up on the forum? And if you can't remember that then again, check with Rich. Regardless of your ?hat? on committees you know full well that the shit-storm that a handful of you caused here was out of all proportion to the facts.  Do you honestly believe that we?d have been banned if you lot (you, Bernie, Mike) hadn?t had your own agenda & stirred the pot? A number of people resigned from the Dan Yr Ogof committee as a result and Elsie was thrown off for disagreeing with the way you went about things. And you wonder why I never accepted your apology?  So you know full well what you can do with that hat, don?t you?

Joel,
I really didn't want to get drawn into this, and especially on a thread that is about something else entirely, but you have forced my hand. That you no longer have any time for me has been apparent for some while, and this despite the fact that we were previously mates. If your problem is really over what I posted on here when you were trapped in DYO then I can do no more than apologize again. But I can promise you that you were not banned from DYO because of anything that was written on this forum or elsewhere. In repeating this I am not calling anyone a fibber, I am stating what was told to the DYO CAC at a meeting when we were expected to ratify the ban ? which we didn?t do, incidentally.

You were banned because, despite your assertion on UKC at the time that the showcave couldn?t have bought the publicity your rescue caused, the management saw that publicity as being entirely negative when a school group phoned to enquire if it was safe for them to visit, having seen the coverage. The showcave directors saw this as a very real threat to their business and demanded a response. That you had gone into the cave against the advice of showcave staff, on a day with a vile forecast, was seen as being the cause of the problem.

You are also quite wrong about the reasons why DYO CAC members left their posts but I cannot go into detail here. If you would be prepared to discuss this with me I will be happy to put you straight.

I apologized to you after the CAC meeting for posting in haste, and that apology stands, but if you have taken it to mean that it was an apology for causing the ban then you are mistaken.
