Paul,

I didn't re-climb your route so can't comment on the state of the bolts. Instead we cast about 3000L on the chamber from every angle and it was clear that the climb you did looked at all the possible passages that I was first interested in.

It is the dig at the bottom of East Chamber that has now got my interest but I can't find anything relating to this other than what is in the current Peak District guide. I'll have a look in the TSG library on Saturday after the AGM and see if I can find anything that Ben recorded.

Thanks for that Sam.

I've never been to Suicide Chamber and I've not got a survey with it on. Again I will do some research over the weekend in the TSG library.

Thanks also to steviet_scg for the pm'd info.

So, with Mark Richardson and Tom from the Buttered Badgers and Steve Turnbull I have now been to Suicide Chamber and as previous posters have suggested it is most likely connected to the bottom of East Chamber.

There were very similar amounts of water going into East Chamber as appeared in Suicide Chamber.

We did intend to re-survey from Suicide Chamber to East Chamber in order to get a feel of where they were in relation to each other but last orders in the Peaks Hotel in Castleton took priority.

It also probably explains where all the miners spoil went. East Chamber was likely a good 30m deeper.

The photographs posted by MikeyP are almost certainly of the area around the dig site in East Chamber.
