Peak District Cave Exploration Prize

Peak District cavers may recall that a few years ago there was an annual competition providing a prize for the team/individual discovering the greatest length of new cave in the Peak District. Derbyshire Caving Association is pleased to announce that they are reviving the competition on a similar basis to before with a superb prize of 200 metres of Gleistein 9mm rope. Diggers who think they may enter this competition in 2022 might like to survey their digs up to the point reached at the start of the New Year in order to obtain an accurate measurement of new cave discovered during 2022.

Further to our post of December 22nd, Derbyshire Caving Association is pleased to announce that an additional prize for 2022 has generously been donated by Derbyshire Geotechnical Ltd, comprising a Roughneck 27? round point micro shovel, a 1lb micro pick and 15? mattock and a 1lb micro cutter and 15? mattock. A very useful set of tools for any digging team! Many thanks to Derbyshire Geotechnical Ltd for supporting this competition.
