Political Balance

My take on it is that you get factual reporting from the Guardian, but a lot of articles are indeed to the left, hence the take on a general bias which is probably unfounded. The big blot on the copybook of the The Mail was giving a platform to that appealing woman Katy Hopkins.

Now if your really want journalism representing left wing bollacks, forget The Guardian, The Mirror really takes the biscuit. So looking for extreme opposites, I would pair The Mail with The Mirror.

I do understand the need for balance, and it's only The Mail (oh, and the Express) that I consider unworthy of my attention, but they blew their chances with me decades ago. To be honest, the only printed paper I actually buy regularly is 'i', and for the money, size and the quality of journalism it's hard to beat - perfect lunchtime/journey length, no obvious bias (they really do feature cross-spectrum writers) and it's only 65p. They've even stopped printing Rachel Johnson's half-hearted defences of her, erm 'sibling', let's call him, and I didn't even send the email in the end - I think they felt the negative energy all the way from there. I think she may currently be washing Stanley's feet in Northern Cyprus, or wherever his 'base' is these days.

You will struggle to  find any real news in either the Mail or the Mirror. The only places you can find real news in UK newspapers these days is in the Grauniad, the Telegraph and maybe the FT.

I rather like reading the headlines from the various news sources that you can see if you click on Google News.

Today, we have this scoop from that paragon of decent news, The Mail - ?Woman, 24, carries water, chairs and even a TABLE with her 34GG breasts!?. I've searched for this red-hot story in The Guardian & Independent in vain.

Love the way the Mail reader tries to justify it by saying 'others are as bad' in much the same way that Covid deniers say 'it's as bad in other countries'.

The Mail is a rabblerousing rag read by people who consider themselves too intelligent to read The S*n.

The FT maybe.

Definitely not The Guardian. They did some laudable things with Wikileaks and Edward Snowden. But their bias has got the better of them with Brexit and the current government. They are blinded by their metropolitan champagne socialism.
What really took the biscuit was when the Tories made a spoof Labour website at the last election. The home page was along the lines of 'Labour - a Conservative Party Website'. But they screen-shotted just the Labour bit and stirred up a complete shitstorm of idiots who believed their nonsense. I too was outraged at such a deception, so I went to the website in question and could immediately see it was just the Guardian being idiots. Up until then I had held their editorial policy / standards in high esteem, albeit biased. Now I see them as a left wing rag. End of.

So they are the same standard as the Mail - full of nonsense, but without the sidebar of shame to keep me up to date with popular culture.

I draw the line at Lizzo in a bikini though.

The Mail seems to be obsessing about the actual date of Harry's wedding at the moment.

They have been harassing Harry for ages. I really despise that they do that. Harry is a twat, Megan is a reprehensible manipulator. But just leave them alone! I ignore all that nonsense, it's a waste of pixels!

I hope that's a typo there Roy

Well spotted

Any chance a mod can correct my original?
Trust me, I do not find Katy Hopkins appealing.

[gmod]The original text has been quoted a couple of times now so changing the original wouldn't make sense in the thread flow. You've corrected the error now anyway here.[/gmod]

The Telegraph was once a reasonable although right wing biases newspaper, its little more than the Daily Mail for people with a larger vocabulary but no more intelligence.

It certainly isn't bias to expose the utter corruption and dishonesty of the current government of traitors that is more BNP than anything else.

Sadly too many people are happy to see UK and what remains of its democracy destroyed as we head towards a one party state.

To quote the ex editor of the Telegraph, Max Hastings on "Boris" Johnson:

[Johnson is] unfit for national office, because it seems he cares for no interest save his own fame and gratification...[his] premiership will almost certainly reveal a contempt for rules, precedent, order and stability.

You don't get excitement like that in the stuffy boring Morning StarGuardian eh!!

She's a regular fixture in the sidebar of shame.

Are you saying that right wing biases indicate a lack of intelligence?

At least Ardgoose managed to avoid referencing cured pork product.

I thought the Big News today was a report that said we didn't live in a racist society.

Although it didn't take all of the Lefties to say it was bollocks because we don't like the Tories, and all of the right wing press to say that we knew that, we have been saying that all along.

Not sure it helps.

A bit like calling people gammon.

Chris.
