Posting issues

What's happened with the posting? Every time I hit 'Post Reply' I get a weird popup of my message, with no obvious button to click to action it further. So I hit 'Post Reply' again, and then it's posted the damn thing twice. This is the third time I've had to delete duplicate entries in two days - something has changed after this maintenance - I thought it was just my phone, but I'm on my home PC now and it's still doing it.

It's probably how Mrs Trellis double posted in the funny pictures topic.

It's still happening - but when you click the "X" to remove the box, you find your post has been successful (but you have to refresh the page to see it). It just did it to me again when I posted the above.

Me too. If you logout of the forum then the unwanted duplicate 'preview' vanishes of its own accord. There doesn't seem to be any way otherwise to get rid of it. When you log back in, it has gone.

Looks like someone has created a Windows Form for the preview and then forgot to do an "Unload Me" in that form after the posting event for the actual message has occurred.

It's still happening, but I just found out that when the box pops up, just wait a few seconds and it disappears, and the post it posted.

Hmmm... that didn't work! I waited, but nothing happened. Then I clicked outside the box, and it went away. That appear to be correct. But every time I tried to post again, the box appeared, with 2 copies, then 3 copies...

So I refreshed the page, and it looks like I can post.

It's still happening - your "reply" doesn't disappear after posting. What I just did was to post again then delete - it worked but it was a faff.

Hit the reply button, and if the box pops up, don't touch it, but reload the page. Your post should be there, once.

It seems to have stopped for me now, thanks. One other thing I've noticed though is that weblinks are almost invisible when used in 'dark theme', which I use - the weblink text is almost the same colour as the post background. Or it is for me, anyway.
