I'm patching various holes in an old Meander oversuit. Unfortunately, I've run out of patch material. Does any one know of a source of small quantities of suitable PVC proofed material that will stick well with PVC cement?
If you ask at your local garden centre, you might get some pond liner offcuts for nowt. It's waterproof (of course) but might need roughening a bit with sandpaper to help it stick.
Thanks all,
I've placed an order with Pennine Outdoor. If it's suitable there should be enough for future wear and tear, till my Meander is 100% patches!
The PVC coated polyester fabric from Pennine Outdoor has arrived. It is a similar weight to the Meander cloth, but either the fabric is a courser weave, or the PVC doesn't penetrate through to the rear side as thoroughly as it does on the Meander. Still looks suitable. I've patched the suit using plumbing PVC cement, PVC coated side to PVC side. Chose the olive green colour, as this complements the yellow well. Will update further, once it has done a few trips. A blurry, out of focus and poorly exposed picture.
