RIP Steve Tomalin

Steve Tomalin, who posted on this forum as AA Speleo, sadly died today following a too long battle with liver cancer. He was just 55 years old.
Steve lived in Gloucester and was a member of both Gloucester Speleological Society and Royal Forest of Dean Caving Club. He was also a member of South Wales Caving Club for some years. He had many caving friends in UK and abroad, particularly in Belgium and France.
He will be sadly missed.
I will post the funeral details as soon as I have them available.

I first met Steve in 1987 when he and the GSS lads were digging in Agen Allwedd.  He was a regular at Whitewalls as a consequence and joined CSS.  Condolences to all.

A sad day indeed & will certainly be missed by all who've had the pleasure of caving with him over the years.

The funeral service for Steve Tomalin is set to take place at 1200 hrs at Gloucester Crematorium on Monday August 4th.
I suggest people who are planning to attend arrive by 11.30 hrs so that we can sort things out.

Steve's strict instructions are that No Body is to wear a Black Tie, Black suit or a Black dress. The latter especially applies to the blokes.
Colour is required.
For those who have them GCRG Red Jackets or from your appropriate Team or organisation. Cave Rescue sweat shirts etc Club T shirts.
For those who have them please wear your Jubilee Medals.
We plan to have an Honor Guard for the coffin.
6 Cavers made up from GCRG, GSS, MCRO and S&MWCRT in Caving kit are going to be carrying the coffin.
Landrovers from GCRG, SARA and S&MWCRT are to form part of the funeral cortege which will be travelling from Priory Road.

After the service at the crematorium everybody is invited back to Steve's dads house at Priory Road.
However if you are planning to go could you please let Paul Taylor know in advance so that he can give the family some indication of numbers.
