Rowter has now got a new Lid which has a Derbyshire lock (30 mm spanner) so if you are thinking of doing a trip don?t forget your adjustable spanner!

Just got to ask:

Why 30mm? I only have a 13mm for rigging, never needed a 30mm, why not use the standard size most cavers have?

Lots of Derbyshire caves and mines need a large adjustable spanner to gain access - so it is fairly standard around here!

Well you see, us Derbyshire lot a strong in arm, so no good us having a piddley little 13mm spanner, we'd not know we had it!!  If you have a big one you can Chase sheep with it also.

practical reason is a small 13 mm bolt is
A - going to get lost all to easily.
B - going to wear out

A big 30mm jobbie is nice and chunky - with nice bit threads that wont get cross threaded easily or clarted up with mud/grit etc.
