Mary Wilde just told me. This is sad. Another bit of Derbyshire caving history gone. At least he went out quickly in a great place surrounded by caving mates.

Wendy here.
It's been a tough week but, been sorting Keith's funeral arrangements with the girls.
The Service will be held at Brimmington Crematorium, Chesterfield on May the 1st at 3.45 pm
No flowers thank you, but donations to DCRO welcome.
Casual dress would be good with a splash of colour please.
There will be a wake afterwards in the Hope Valley.

Thanks for that Wendy, see you there, what was the P.M. verdict?
(Still can't get my head round this one)

I met Keith through DCRO and was always amazed at his ability as a DCRO controller to avoid ever having to be 'in control' in the van and disappearing underground to lead from the front at the first instance. Later on I remember challenging Keith as to which one of us could get underground first on rescues and practices which is a game I always lost.
Recently I started digging with Keith in Giant's Hole and was always impressed by his ability to show complete indifference to all the other boulders in the choke whilst poking the biggest, scariest looking one. His enthusiasm for trying to find new passage and his ability to talk a good 'scaffolding' and then carry on without it will be happy memories of Keith.
Keith was someone I knew I could rely on 100% underground whether that was poking boulder chokes or with DCRO. He managed to do this whilst being a genuinely nice bloke and always having something good to say or a tale of boulders dodged.

Was just wondering if you would like to write a Eulogy for Keith about all the fun times you had with
him. If so would you be able to read it out at the Funeral?
There will be no Hymns or prayers as Keith was not a religious person.
If any one else would also like to say something that's fine ( the funnier the better) but please get in
touch first, as we need to write it into the service.
